Elizabeth II appoints new ministers in Truss government
After Liz Truss came to the post of prime minister, the ministers of foreign and internal affairs, health and finance were replaced in the cabinet. Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace Retains Position
Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain has appointed several new ministers. The reshuffle is announced on the British government website.
- Former Minister of Labor Therese Coffey has become the head of the Ministry of Health and Deputy Prime Minister.
- Former UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverley has taken over as head of the Foreign Office. Previously, this position was held by Liz Truss, who is now the Prime Minister of the Kingdom.
- Former Attorney General of England and Wales Suella Braverman will replace Priti Patel, who left this position after Liz Truss won the election of Prime Minister .
- Ex-Business Minister Kwazi Kwarteng has been appointed Minister of Finance. After the resignation of Rishi Sunak in July, the position was filled by Nadhim Zahavi (former Minister of Education).
- Member of Parliament Wendy Morton will become the Chief Party Organizer (Chief Whip) of the Conservatives.
- Former Minister of Education Northern Irish Affairs Brandon Lewis, who left the Johnson government in July, has been appointed Lord Chancellor and Attorney General.
Ben Wallace will retain his position as Secretary of Defense in the Truss government.
In addition, Transportation Secretary Grant Shapps tweeted about his resignation. “It was an honor for me to serve as the Minister of Transport; [it was] a job that I loved. Now I am looking forward to becoming a strong and independent voice, speaking from the backbench (the place where ordinary members of parliament sit. — RBC), pursuing policies that will promote the cause of the conservatives,— written by Shapps.
Conservative Party Chairman Andrew Stevenson, Minister for Housing, Communities and Local Government Greg Clark, Minister for Northern Ireland Shailesh Wara also announced their resignation (Clark and Wara stayed in their positions for two months).

Lise Truss won the election of the new British Prime Minister with 57.4% of the votes of members of the Conservative Party. Her opponent Rishi Sunak received 42.6% of the Conservatives. Officially, the new head of government took office on 6 September. Truss was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
In her first speech as Prime Minister, Liz Truss promised to take action this week to combat rising electricity prices. Among the priority tasks, she also named tax cuts, business support, ensuring the availability of medicine, building roads, houses and schools, developing broadband Internet, creating jobs.
