IAEA mission left Austria for Zaporozhye NPP
The mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), headed by Director General Rafael Grossi, left Vienna for the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, TASS reports.
Upon arrival, a group of experts and inspectors will assess the damage that was caused to the facility, the security system and will take measures to verify the use of nuclear material, Interfax reports.
The agency's mission is to clarify the situation around the nuclear power plant, help to understand the issue of the status of the facility and its work.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the IAEA mission would arrive at the Zaporozhye NPP in the coming days. In Russia, they hope that the conclusions of the delegation will be devoid of political overtones.
